ANATOMY OF A CD

CD Jewel Case Front:

(A) CD Insert: It is the printed cover that slides into the front of a jewel box. This piece can be a one page square (Insert), folded in a number of pages (Panel), or stapled as a booklet with a minimum of 8 pages (Page Panel).
(B) Jewel Box: The plastic clamshell case that holds a CD or DVD.

CD Jewel Case Back:

(A) Tray card: It is the printed piece that fits under the CD tray. It shows through the jewel box and a clear CD tray. The 2 folder spines on either side of the tray card will show when jewel boxes are stacked.

CD Tray:

(A) CD Tray: A plastic holder that holds the CD. It fits insides a jewel case. Trays are usually black, we also offer clear ones at no extra cost.
(B) Back side: Printing on the back of the CD insert. It can be printed with color or B/W on a 2-panel insert. Otherwise, it has the same number of colors as the CD cover.
(C) Disc printing: It is the printable area on a CD. The best quality for CD/DVD disc printing is by offset printing.
